Pope Francis might be down with dropping F-bombs in church and reaching his millions of followers on social media…
But he’s not into the Twitter campaign for a sit down and screening involving Russell Crowe and his new biblical flick Noah!
According to Variety, the Pope has declined a “tentative” meeting and photo op with the cast and creative team behind the famous tale of the flood and the EPIC arc, which hits theaters on March 28.
Apparently, a meeting was never scheduled because Vatican reps believed Russell’s appearance would disrupt St. Peter’s gathering and cause a scene!
Now, although it’s sad for the team behind Noah, the movie’s star has been gunning hard via social media, hoping to make a connection with the head of the Catholic Church on the interwebs!
The actor has been tweeting invites to Pop Francis since February, and here are a few of our favs:
Holy Father @Pontifex , it would be my deepest pleasure to bring the @DarrenAronofsky film to you to screen. That this may happen Inshallah
