Porn may be more free and accessible than ever before in the history of the world — but it’s not enough for everyone.
According to a new class action lawsuit filed on Thursday, Pornhub is not providing accommodation to the deaf and hard of hearing in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Per the ADA’s website, the law “prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public.”

And *all* notably includes free and easy enjoyment of pornography the rest of us take for granted. At least that’s the case Yaroslav Suris is making.
In his suit, the nearly deaf man says Pornhub, as well as YouPorn and Redtube, which are part of the larger Pornhub network, do not provide closed captioning on the bulk of their videos, which restricts his enjoyment of the material.
“Without closed captioning, deaf and hard-of-hearing people cannot enjoy video content on the defendants’ websites while the general public can.”
This may seem like a silly complaint — after all, porn is infamous for its plots and dialogue being at best a nonessential aspect of the enjoyment, at worst a badly acted distraction. But hey, everyone should be free to enjoy porn in whatever way they want, and if this guy wants to know which stepbrother is cheating on which coed or that the babysitter never saw one this big, that’s totally valid, too.
We should note, Suris is not just a porn aficionado looking for satisfaction. In December of last year he also filed suits against Fox News and the New York Post over the lack of closed captioning on their sites. So he’s definitely a man on a mission.
However, he did get specific in his legal docs, listing multiple specific videos he watched, including:

- Sexy Cop Gets Witness to Talk
- Daddy 4K — Allison comes to Talk About Money to Her Boys’ Naughty Father
So there. Tell us that’s not serious legal action.
Pornhub VP Corey Price issued a statement to TMZ regarding the lawsuit, saying:
“We understand that Yaroslav Suris is suing Pornhub for claiming we’ve denied the deaf and hearing impaired access to our videos. While we do not generally comment on active lawsuits, we’d like to take this opportunity to point out that we do have a closed captions category.”
That is true. However, the closed caption category has a mere 410 videos as of this writing. Meanwhile the website proudly says it has 10,579,925 videos total. That means only .003% of the total vids have closed captioning.
Suris is asking for an undisclosed amount in compensatory damages, civil penalties, and fines for the website, as well as compliance with the ADA.
The question is, if they do comply whose job will it be to go into all the videos and type up the closed captions? Sounds like hard work to us…
