The Sunflower singer played to a packed crowd in Colorado on Thursday evening, drawing harsh criticism about potentially spreading coronavirus. Though the Centennial State has yet to ban large public gatherings, health officials have still warned against it.

Even without all states placing a ban on large gatherings, many artists such as Billie Eilish, Blake Shelton, and Céline Dion have taken it upon themselves to postpone or cancel current tour dates as a safety precaution for their fanbase. Despite worldwide panic over the fast-spreading virus, it seems fans of the 24-year-old didn’t seem to mind too much. Ch-ch-check out what the scene inside the concert was like:

On Thursday afternoon, the Pepsi Center tweeted out that the show would go on as planned:

“Tonight’s Post Malone concert at Pepsi Center is proceeding as scheduled. We continue to monitor the current COVID-19 situation with local, state and federal authorities. Please continue to monitor venue websites & social media channels regarding any updates to upcoming events.”

The responses were fairly mixed, with many Twitter users criticizing the venue for allowing the concert:

“this is a terrible decision. and before anyone hits me with “ok boomer” I’m 23 and the coronavirus prob wouldn’t affect me long term. but this puts those who are much more susceptible at risk. once again: I dont know how to explain to you that you should care about other people.”

“In light of everything else being cancelled (even smaller events) this seems like a poor decision.”

“Extremely irresponsible of you. Almost borderline criminal given your foreknowledge. If someone gets the virus from carriers at this event and it can be proven, I can see charges against those who made the decision to continue and, most definitely, a civil lawsuit.”

But there were also some who didn’t seem to have a problem with it:

“boomers are mad rn. we’re here for a good life!!!!!! not a long one ?”

“Ayeeee let’s go!! Boomers eat it ?”

“Awesome! Thank you for the update!”

“Hey I had a great time, thanks for not canceling! Posty killed it in a packed house. && yes I washed my hands several times, AND brought germ-x”

What do U think, Perezcious music lovers? Should the venue have intervened and pulled the plug since we’re dealing with a public health crisis? Or was it fine for the show to go on?! Sound OFF (below) in the comments and let us know how you’re feeling!!
