A glass of wine a day can be good for you.
A joint of weed a day…not so much.
Researchers in England found that occasional drug use was not related to mental decline.
The study surveyed 9,000 50-year-olds and found those who did use drugs (lightly) did just well or slightly better than those around them.
Marijuana was the most prevalent drug with six percent stating got high within the past year and 25% in their lifetime.
Other drugs tested included shrooms, X, coke, and acid (thankfully not meth).
The study first surveyed the participants at 42 and then again at 50. The tests ranged from memory retention to attention span.
When all together, the stoners tended have higher test scores.
However, the researchers did not test the effects of long, heavy users so don’t go celebrating yet and become a druggie.
Drugs can still harm the body, so as always be careful with what you put into your body!
