A pregnant Michigan 18-year old, Brooke Slocum, was strangled to death, and her 25-year old boyfriend, Charles Oppenneer, was decapitated as their attempt to meet up with a stranger on Craigslist for a sexual encounter went horribly wrong.
Be very careful when dealing with strangers online, people! This is so so tragic!
After examining emails, it would seem that Brooke contacted the suspect, 31-year old Brady Oestrike (above), through a Craigslist ad, and the two arranged for a sexual encounter where Charles would be present too.
According to the police chief in Wyoming, Michigan, Brooke was held captive prior to her death, and her body was found in the trunk of the suspect’s vehicle.
What’s even worse is that she was 8-months pregnant at the time. This is all too sad.
Meanwhile, police believe that Charles might have suffered some sort of trauma to the head, but seeing as how his head hasn’t been found yet, they can’t say anything for sure.
Meanwhile, Brady apparently fled his home after police received a warrant, crashed his car, and then fatally shot himself.
Afterwards, those investigating collected at least 400 items from Brady’s home, including firearms, ammunition, and knives.
So creepy.
In addition, they recovered possessions from both victims.
Apparently, authorities plan to investigate further to determine if anyone else was involved in these murders.
Our hearts go out to to the families of the victims during this tough time.
