Ever since the controversial verdict in the George Zimmerman case, people have been speculating on how President Barack Obama felt on the matter.
In his first public speech since the Not Guilty came in, the POTUS made himself perfectly clear. He not only feels for Trayvon Martin‘s family– he sympathizes with the victim himself. He said:
“Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago.
There are very few African-American men in this country who haven├óΓé¼Γäót had the experience of being followed while they were shopping at a department store. That includes me.”
Wow. Barack went on address the “disparities” in how the law looks at race and to say that as a country we all need to do some “soul-searching” to make sure we’re not being biased in how we think and act.
