President-elects are just like us!
They visit tourist spots and eat chili in Washington, D.C.!
Except that when we visit national monuments, we don’t get a motorcade! Or a swarm of security!
Barack Obama made an unannounced visit to the Lincoln Memorial in the state capital on Saturday. With his family in tow, they took in the statue and some of the memorial’s other exhibits.
Continuing his homage to the 16th President, Obama will use the same Bible that was used to swear in Lincoln, becoming the first President to do so. The Inauguration luncheon will include a menu that Honest Abe would have enjoyed.
Continuing his tourist tour of Washington, Barry hit up Ben’s Chili Bowl with Washington mayor Adrian Fenty, where they ordered the house special – a Chili Half-Smoke with a heap of cheese fries.
We hope they also brought some Imodium AD!
