OMG, we got the sense maybe she was hinting at him… But this is so bad for Prince Harry!
The Duke of Sussex and his friend Prince Seeiso of Lesotho announced their difficult decision to step down as patrons of Sentebale, the charity they founded in 2006 to help young people in Lesotho and elsewhere in southern Africa amid the HIV/AIDS crisis. The board of trustees tried to oust chairwoman Dr. Sophie Chandauka, and in response she filed a lawsuit.
In her opening volley of a statement she threw out vague accusations of “bullying” and “abuse of power”:
“[This is] the story of a woman who dared to blow the whistle about issues of poor governance, weak executive management, abuse of power, bullying, harassment, misogyny, misogynoir — and the coverup that ensued.”
She did NOT say which leaders of the charity committed these alleged acts. But she gave some clues, adding:
“There are people in this world who behave as though they are above the law and mistreat people, and then play the victim card and use the very press they disdain to harm people who have the courage to challenge their conduct.”
Yeah. When she mentioned playing the victim and using “the very press they disdain,” our minds immediately jumped to Harry. But now she’s making it clear!
In an interview with the Financial Times over the weekend, she said everything but Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s names, blasting:
“The number one risk for this organization was the toxicity of its lead patron’s brand.”
We mean… Harry was the lead patron. His Sussex brand has certainly become toxic over the past couple years. Is he the one she’s also accusing of “harassment” and “misogynoir”?? JFC!

Dr. Chandauka claims Harry and his fellow Prince set her up to fail as chairwoman of Sentebale. She believes they wanted to “force a failure and then come to the rescue.” That’s pretty gross if they set up a Black woman to fail at an African charity only for a white British man to look like he was swooping in to save the day. As she complained to FT, having a white British royal at the head seemed wrong to her altogether:
“The way the organization had been set up in 2006, was no longer appropriate in 2023 in a post-Black Lives Matter world. Funders were asking for locally led initiatives.”
The chairwoman found herself immediately at odds with the board after announcing her plan to broaden the focus of the charity from HIV/AIDS to “addressing issues of youth health, wealth and climate resilience in Southern Africa.” But she maintains that’s what was needed — and implies the trustees back in England didn’t really care about that, only about having control over the organization. She says they were trying to get rid of her because they were upset over “a loss of power and control and influence,” crying, “‘Oh my goodness, the Africans are taking over.'”
The lawyer has a message for Harry upon his exit — she insists Sentebale “will live on, with or without you.” Damn.
And she got even more explicit about her feud in a followup interview on Sky News‘ Sunday Morning. She blasted the Duke of Sussex for his statement on leaving:
“The only reason I’m here… is because at some point on Tuesday, Prince Harry authorized the release of a damaging piece of news to the outside world without informing me or my country directors, or my executive director.”
What’s the problem? She says the way he used the press to get his sad narrative out there led to her becoming a target:
“And can you imagine what that attack has done for me, on me and the 540 individuals in the Sentebale organizations and their famil[ies]?”
Whoa! She finally straight up accused Harry of “harassment and bullying”:
“That is an example of harassment and bullying at scale.”
Well, there it is. No equivocating there.
Dr. Chandauka blasted Harry and Meghan for unleashing “the Sussex machine” on her and the other Sentebale employees. When asked to define that, she elaborated:
“The PR machine that supports Prince Harry’s efforts. The only way we discovered of his decision was through the Sussex machine activating newspaper.”
Hmm. Sources tell Page Six Harry and Seeiso sent letters of resignation to the chairwoman on March 10, two weeks before their public statement.
As for how the trustees and patrons feel about the bullying allegations? A source told the outlet:
“They fully expected this publicity stunt and reached their collective decision with this in mind. They remain firm in their resignation, for the good of the charity, and look forward to the adjudication of the truth.”
There are certainly already plenty of folks around the world with an idea of Harry and Meghan using “the Sussex machine” to bully people. But if Dr. Chandauka has any direct evidence of abuse of power or misogyny, we expect we’ll see it soon. She is NOT going to go quietly!
What do YOU think, Perezcious readers??
