The London Marathon needed a little royal pick-me-up!
Not that they couldn’t handle the tension from last week’s bombing of the Boston Marathon, it’s just that we think the more friendly faces the better — so everyone could focus on running and having fun! That’s why we’re happy that Prince Harry showed up as scheduled to hand out the awards to the winners!
Here’s what Prince Harry had to say:
“[It was] never an option as far as I was concerned. Everyone that was planning on coming is still here. No one’s changed any plans. The way that Boston has dealt with it has been absolutely remarkable. It’s never going to get anyone down here…everyone comes together.”
Which is pretty much the exact opposite of what the Boston Bombers wanted to happen!
We are SO inspired by the response to last week’s events — and it looks like that inspiration has rippled around the globe, too!
Congrats to the women’s champion Priscah Jeptoo of Kenya and men’s champion Tsegaye Kebede of Ethiopia for winning!
