Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s mystery matchmaker has FINALLY been revealed!
As you surely know, during their first interview as an engaged couple, the ginger prince admitted that a mutual friend set them up back in 2016. At the time, the 33-year-old said they wouldn’t share their cupid’s identity in order to “protect her privacy.”

While many names have been thrown out as the possible matchmaker, a source close to the situation confirmed to E! News that Harry’s childhood friend Violet von Westenholz can be credited for starting this royal love story. Ooh, go on!!
Violet is the daughter of a baron who is very good friends with Prince Charles, thus, she’s been in Harry’s social circle for years. In fact, Miz von Westenholz’s little sister Victoria was once romantically linked to the royal airman. Regardless, over the years, Violet has become an important confidante in Harry’s life.
An insider shared:
“Harry was having a really hard time finding anyone. It’s hard enough finding someone new to date. He can hardly go on Tinder or a dating app like normal people, but to meet someone that you actually connect with, that was proving to be almost impossible.
It was something he had confided in his closest friends about; he was ready to meet someone but it was so hard to actually find the right person.”
Awwwww. Here’s where Violet comes in…
Apparently, Violet and Meghan crossed paths thanks to the former’s public relations work with Ralph Lauren. So, when Harry confided in Violet about his love struggles, she immediately thought of Markle. The tipster dished:
“Meghan had been a part of the London social scene for a while and had slotted into the high society set really easily. And so when Harry told Violet he was having trouble finding someone, Violet said she might just have the perfect girl for him.”
And that she did!! In case you forgot, after only two dates, Meghan and Harry jetted off to Botswana for a magical vacay.

It’s said Harry is truly smitten with Meghan too. The source admitted:
“Even with Chelsy [Davy], Harry didn’t feel this kind of spark. And they were together for years! Harry just knew immediately, from the moment he spent time with Meghan, that he wanted to be with her. It’s a simple case of meeting the right girl at the right time.”
It probably helps that the prince’s pals are so fond of her as well. Friends close to Prince William‘s brother have said that Meghan is “a really good fit into the group” and has helped Harry to settle down. The Markle sparkle didn’t stick with only one person, as one chum spilled:
“Meghan did put someone’s nose out recently because she was introduced to them at an indoor location and didn’t take her sunglasses off. But that’s really been her only faux pas… We are all just really happy that he finally met a woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with.”
Violet has yet to confirm her matchmaker status, but we’re sure we’ll see her at Meghan and Harry’s May wedding. Squee!!
