Another royal wedding!
But this one resulted in the loss of one title, rather than gaining one.
Japan’s Princess Ayako married her love Kei Moriya on Monday at the Meji Shrine in Tokyo, surrendering her royal status and allowance.

Close family and friends welcomed the couple ahead of the ceremony, with the 28-year-old princess in a yellow uchiki kimono embroidered with flowers and leaves as her partner opted for a simple morning coat and pin-striped trousers!
And for the actual ceremony, where only family were present, Ayako swapped her beautiful kimono for a red kouchiki. See (below):

While only females have to forfeit their royal status, the youngest of three daughters of Princess Hisako and the late Prince Takamodo, cousin of Emperor Akihito, decided on giving hers up when she and the 32-year-old Nippon Yussen employee became engaged in August.
While her title will be lost, the Japanese government does give Ayako a sum of $950K for living expenses.
And she told reporters following their nuptials:
“I will leave the imperial family today, but I will remain unchanged in my support for his majesty and her majesty.”
Can’t hate a girl for choosing true love!!
