Here comes the bride, and Vogue‘s first 2019 cover star Priyanka Chopra!
Just days before her beautiful, Indian wedding to Nick Jonas, the publication has released advance photos of their feature with the Quantico star, complete with answers to questions some may have about their relatively speedy proposal. (C’mon, you know you were thinking it!)

Vogue‘s feature dives deep into Chopra’s early upbringing and superstar career in India that eventually translated over to the States. Landing the lead role in ABC‘s Quantico back in 2015 put Priyanka not just on TV screens weeknights, but on our celebrity radar, too.
But it’s safe to say the actress’ quickly developed relationship and engagement to 26-year-old Jonas has caught everyone’s attention this past year, with many questioning its authenticity.
Well it turns out Nick knew it was the real deal before all of us, because he got down on one knee and professed his affection toward the former Miss World the night they officially met in person at last year’s Vanity Fair Oscars party. Joining the sit-down with his lady, he explains that when Chopra walked in:
“And I put my drink down..get on one knee—this is in front of a bunch of people—and I say, ‘You’re real. Where have you been all my life?’ Like, loud.”
Aww!
The Baywatch actress says she had a car waiting outside to leave the party, but pushed for another five minutes to chat unknowingly with her future husband.
Apparently they had been texting a bit prior to officially meeting with Nick admitting he slid in the DMs! The Chains singer couldn’t help himself after catching an episode of Quantico, and telling her costar Graham Rogers:
“‘Priyanka. Is. Wow.’ That’s not the way I talk.”
But from that point the rest became history. The two went on to have a real proper date, attend the 2017 Met Gala together, and Nick even met Priyanka’s mom early on. But while these may be major relationship milestones, the actress says she can still pinpoint the exact moment she felt a shift in things with her then-boyfriend. While out on a date night in El Lay, she recalls:
“[He said] ‘I love the way you look at the world. I love the drive you have.’ As a girl, I’ve never had a guy tell me, ‘I like your ambition.’ It’s always been the opposite.”
A partner who not only admires you physically, but appreciates and encourages your ambition? This would sweep anyone off their feet, but especially Chopra who usually keeps her love life on the low:
“I’ve had that rule my whole life. Never publicly acknowledge a relationship. Ever… What is happening? I’ve not known myself like this. This guy turned me into such a girl! If I could blush, I’d be tomato red right now.”
So, there you have it guys — the love is real!
Speaking of the wedding though, the starlet confidently adds it will be quite the affair:
“People will need vacations after this wedding.”
As for what’s next? Once the ink is dry and the wedding celebrations are over, it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Jonas could be starting a family since Priyanka has joked about it before.
