Queen O Scales Back But Gives Back Too!

So this RecessMas, the Oprah Winfrey decided to go lightly on her minions, figuring that a pack of a stay-at-home mothers didn’t really need a reminder of just how wonderful it is to be Queen of the Universe.
Queen O scaled back her holiday special, concentrating instead on gifts from the heart.
Like macaroni necklaces!
Okay, not really, more like “gratitude boxes” that you decorate (holiday themed or not) and then fill with little notes about how thankful you are for the person the box is intended for. If you can afford your annual holiday party, the boxes function as great party souvenirs, allowing guests to express their gratitude toward each other.
Just be careful when the spiked egg nog begins to flow!
Oprah said, “It has been the gifts that cost the least amount of money that mean the most to me” for the two seconds before she promptly dumps them in the garbage and then shuffles around her estate in slippers that cost more than your life.
Know what else is cheap? Reading. Oprah touted her recent book club selection – The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewskias – as a “magical bond that this mute boy shares with his dog. But it’s so much more than a dog story.”
But guests didn’t walk away empty handed. For 48 hours following the show’s broadcast, fans can download a playlist of the Queen’s fave holiday tunes for free, which features musicians such as Tony Bennett and Faith Hill. You could even download and print out an O Holiday Hits label.
Great!
