Despite what we heard yesterday, sources are now saying country musician Randy Travis has NOT undergone heart surgery yet and remains in critical condition!
The Grammy winning artist was hospitalized on Sunday, and is currently being treated for viral cardiomyopathy, an infection that weakens the heart and can lead to heart failure.
Yesterday, a representative and a family member said he was in stable enough condition to go undergo heart surgery, but now sources are saying that it hasn’t happened yet.
Heart problems apparently runs in Travis’s family, as his mother died young due to heart complications and his brother suffered a heart attack.
We really hope he’s able to buck the trend, and hopefully he’ll be able to stabilize soon so doctors can perform the necessary procedures.
