Rescued Panther Kitty Dies Under Anesthesia

Sad…this little guy fought hard but in the end, his injuries proved too much.
A 15 week old rare panther kitten died yesterday under anesthesia before undergoing an MRI scan. A dozen vets and wildlife specialists worked on the kitty but it was too late.
The panther’s story was heartbreaking when it first broke; a volunteer for the Florida Panther Wildlife Refuge found the wounded kitten on the side of the road and the cat was transported to the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa.
Specialists tried to rehabilitate the kitten, who suffered head trauma and couldn’t move or eat on his own.
The zoo’s veterinary staff consulted with experts in neurology, ophthalmology, internal medicine, radiology, exotic medicine, and M.D. neurologists just to give the kitten a chance.
There are only 160 panthers in the wild, this year is already the deadliest for the species, with 13 panthers dead.
RIP kitty
