Last night, the big win on TV was NOT the top 24 picked for American Idol, but the the gaggle of geeks over on CBS’ The Big Bang Theory . Chuck Lorre’s boys managed to best Idol in not only the head-to-head numbers, but won the night overall!
Big Bang drew 16.1 million total viewers and a 5.2 demo rating, while Idol did 14 mil/4.0 in the shared half-hour and 15.4 mil/4.4 across the full 60 minutes.
Thus, Sheldon and Co. told J.Lo to head back to the block as BB was Thursday’s most-watched and highest-rated program.
BOOM! That’s an upset!
Has Idol officially started losing its mojo? Are we finally heading into an end of an era? Or was there something really extra special going on last night on Big Bang that we’re not aware of?
