We believe she can overcome this setback.
But the news is still quite troubling.
Diem Brown has made a lot of fans all around the world because of the strength and resolve she’s displayed in beating ovarian cancer not once, but twice.
However she’ll have to dig deep to make a stand again as the 32-year-old reality star was recently diagnosed with colon cancer.
The awful discovery was made after the MTV star collapsed while filming a new reality show abroad, and was airlifted back for emergency surgery in New York last Sunday.
It was during the surgery that doctors were able to find out what was going on.
Here’s what Diem Brown’s sister Megan said:
“Doctors found one tumor blocking her colon completely so they had to do emergency surgery that evening to remove the blockage. They were able to remove the mass, but once they were inside they found out there were multiple tumors.”
Brown then underwent a second emergency procedure three days later because of complications stemming from the first surgery. She’s now staying in the ICU unit of a New York hospital, and her sister is hopeful she’ll recover soon so she can start battling the colon cancer in a few weeks.
Megan said:
“The second surgery was two steps back. But hopefully in the next few weeks she’ll be well enough to start chemo.”
Part of what makes Diem Brown so loved by so many people is her indomitable soul and spirit and her sister Megan says that spirit is still there! She said:
“She’s in and out. She’s on a lot of medication but every once and awhile you’ll see her spirit, the light back in her eyes.”
And although Diem Brown is in the midst of a very personal and painful battle – the reality star is OK with people knowing her health status. Her sister Megan said:
“She’s okay with people knowing where she is. She’s had an unbelievable outpouring of support. People will text me and I’ll read her their messages while she’s in bed.”
Our heart goes out to Diem Brown and her family as they go through this terrible set of circumstances. We are fully aware though that Diem has one of the strongest wills we’ve seen, and when there’s a will there’s a way.
