Bad news for Rebel Wilson!
The actress has been embroiled in a nasty legal battle for the past couple of years. It reportedly all began when Rebel took to Instagram in 2024, accusing songwriter and producer Amanda Ghost of “inappropriate behavior” toward Charlotte MacInnes, the lead actress of her directorial debut The Deb, and “embezzling funds from the film’s budget.”
She also claimed the producer was trying to bury the film. Ghost denied the allegations, suing the Pitch Perfect alum for defamation. She alleged Rebel was lashing out since she didn’t receive a writing credit on the project. And The Hustle star fired back with a countersuit.
In it, she accused Ghost of sexually harassing Charlotte and colluding with the star to cover up what happened. She also accused Ghost, Gregor Cameron, and Vince Holden of intimidation and embezzling funds from the movie.
However, Rebel suffered a major loss amid the legal battle! According to Deadline on Thursday, LA Superior Court Judge Thomas Long tossed the majority of her claims! Whoa!

That means Rebel can’t pursue the serious allegations in her suit, such as that Ghost grooms young women and stole credit for James Blunt’s song You’re Beautiful.
The judge called the accusations “immaterial and abusive.” Oof. Rebel also can’t amend her case, so her lawsuit is narrowed down to the fair-dealing claims against AI Film, which is run by Ghost, and that the producers caused her emotional distress. That’s it.
Meanwhile, Ghost received permission to conduct limited discovery in relation to her defamation lawsuit about the “smear websites” that made allegations about her being the “Indian Ghislaine Maxwell.”
This is a huge loss for Rebel! What are your reactions, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments!
