Rebel Wilson is joining the other celebrities who have reacted to the incredibly sad shooting Thursday night during a showing of Trainwreck at a movie theater in Lafeyette, Louisiana.

The Australian actress took to Twitter to express her frustration with gun control in the United States, saying that in light of the shooting, American lawmakers really need to take notes from her native country, writing:
I don’t like getting political but America you really have to follow Australia’s example re gun laws.

In 1996 — following a massacre in Tasmania that killed 35 people — Australian politicians completely banned shotguns, as well as semi-automatic and automatic rifles. At the time, the government also bought back those prohibited weapons from civilians who had recently purchased them.
Rebel revealed that since those regulations went into place, violence in the nation has dropped substantially:
I don’t remember a mass shooting in Australia since they overhauled the gun laws. It seems like every week in America there’s a shooting.

After the tragic Charleston church shooting in June, President Barack Obama also cited Australian gun laws as a model the U.S. should follow in light of all the senseless violence that has happened in this country recently.
The Pitch Perfect 2 star explained that she’s not trying to bash America, she’s just really sad that these tragedies continue to happen:
I just want people to be safe, especially people that are doing one of my favorite things in the WORLD – going out to the movies 2 have fun.
