Something smells super fishy here. Like, C-grade sushi restaurant fishy.
According to the police report, Reese Witherspoon was arrested for disorderly conduct Friday morning. Down in Atlanta, she allegedly threw a tantrum when police pulled her husband over and began their proceedings for suspicion of a DUI.
The police officer wrote:
“Mrs. Witherspoon began to hang out the window and say that she did not believe that I was a real police officer. I told Mrs. Witherspoon to sit on her butt and be quiet. She stated that she was a ├óΓé¼╦£US citizen├óΓé¼Γäó and that she was allowed to ├óΓé¼╦£stand on American ground.├óΓé¼Γäó Mrs. Witherspoon asked, ‘Do you know my name?’ I answered, ‘No, I don├óΓé¼Γäót need to know your name.’ I then added, ‘right now.’ Mrs. Witherspoon stated, ‘You├óΓé¼Γäóre about to find out who I am.’ Mrs. Witherspoon also stated, ├óΓé¼╦£You are going to be on national news.├óΓé¼Γäó I advised Mrs. Witherspoon that was fine.”
Doesn’t sound like there could be any misunderstanding there, right??
That sounds like straight-up SASS to us!! And we should know!!
But according to a source close to Reese, she was merely asking if he knew her name because she wanted to know if he needed her name.
The source says of the ‘celebrity card’ pull:
“It wasn’t like that. She was being protective of her husband and was fearful of the situation.”
Mmhmm.. but see, we’re just so confused because if that were the case, the rest of the police report doesn’t make sense! If she was simply trying to cooperate, the follow-up of “you’re about to find out who I am; you are going to be on national news” sounds way off base, no??
So question:
Was the police officer stretching the truth?
Or is this source trying to smooth things over for our lovable blondie???
