Has Renee Zellweger‘s fairytale romance come crashing back to harsh reality? Kiiiinda looks like it.
For the past few years the Bridget Jones’s Diary star has been head over heels for Brit presenter and cool car guy Ant Anstead. By all accounts they were “madly in love” and even talking marriage! And we loved that for her!
But, uh… All signs now are pointing to a quiet split!
Let’s start with the shocking part. Ant has been seen hanging out with another woman! Before we go crazy here, the eyewitness did NOT see any PDA. But they did tell DailyMail.com they’d been seen meeting on the beach at sunset, just the two of them. Sounds romantic, right? And importantly last week he was spotted staying overnight at her place! OK, that’s… not PDA, but it’s not exactly chill either! Not if he and Renee are still together!

Who is this woman? Julia “Jules” French, a 36-year-old spin instructor in the middle of a divorce with a hedge fund guy. Oh man… are they both in the middle of breakups? Is this a double rebound situation? Or is he still with Renee and looking sus?? Renee is 56 btw. So that’s gotta hurt either way.
We’re wondering if this isn’t a secret breakup and rebound. See, all this is taking place in Laguna Beach, California, where Ant has been staying in a little 2-bedroom rental home. Ant is staying there. NOT Renee. His spokeswoman confirmed the place “was rented solely by Mr. Anstead.” Why did he rent a new place on his own when Renee’s home is right there?
In 2022 they moved in together, into the Jerry Maguire alum’s gorgeous clifftop mansion in the SoCal town. So… why isn’t he staying there? We know Renee is in NYC filming the new season of Only Murders In The Building. Why isn’t he with her? And if he needs to stay in town, why isn’t he at their shared domicile? No, it’s not adding up.
DM reached out to Ant’s rep, who said only that the TV star “continues to remain private about his cherished personal relationship.” And a source close to Zellweger told the outlet they were still together. Just living apart. But how many couples do you know who move out and stay together? Not sure we’re buying that one.
Of course, we have no idea what happened, what trouble invaded their paradise. Though there is a hint it could be his financial troubles. He’s battling multiple lawsuits, his car company may be going bankrupt, and he’s had to sell off a lot of assets. Money problems are one of the lead causes of breakups out here in the real world, so we wouldn’t be shocked.
