This Restaurant Is Forgoing Prices... For Faith! How Much Would YOU Pay For Food Without A Price Tag??

Wow!
Talk about putting your faith where your money is!
A restaurant called Just Cookin’ in Dallas, North Carolina, has an unusual business strategy brewing in its midsts, and it seems to be working out extremely well!
The owner of the restaurant, Dana Parris, announced recently that she would be letting customers pay what they think her food deserves – a move that could have easily backfired!
And yet a simple note on the restaurant’s cash register has changed so much for the people who work there! Here’s what the note says:

“What are we worth? I am putting my faith where my cash register is ├óΓé¼┬ª No prices├óΓé¼┬ª no totals├óΓé¼┬ª you pay what you think your meal is worth!!!”

And here’s what the restaurant’s Facebook page said:

“Just Cookin Announces: What are we worth WEEK? I am putting my “FAITH” where my CASH REGISTER is. I am letting go and letting GOD!! No prices├óΓé¼┬ª.No totals├óΓé¼┬ª..You pay what you think your meal is worth!!! Just Cookin is a God filled business. We know we can do nothing special. God can do anything and everything!!! Thank you for Blessing us with the opportunity to serve you!!!! We pray this week you feel and see the ALMIGHTY PRESENCE of GOD!!!”

So basically that means that customers will pay whatever they feel like! Pretty risky!
The owner said:

“The way I could show I was giving God control was to give him control of the cash register.”

And you know what? Since making this a practice at their business, their revenues have gone up dramatically!

The owner continued:

“We’re in a very small college town and in the summer business just goes down. I had been praying and praying, and this business is God’s business, but I didn’t feel like I was totally giving it over to God. The cash register is the part I was keeping hold on. I finally just gave up control of it and it has been a blessing…I think I’m just going to keep it going. I’m not sure about actual profits yet, but our revenues have almost tripled and my guest checks [number of people coming in] have tripled also. I’m amazed. It’s awesome.”

As for the reaction of their customers – it’s been a sweet mixed bag! The owner said:

“We’ve had some people come to eat who couldn’t have afforded to eat and other people pay a little bit more. It’s been catching on with the other customers. Customers just see a table in the dining room and say, ├óΓé¼╦£I’m going to pay for their food.’ Customers leave extra money and say this is for the next person that comes up. We don’t want anybody to feel bad when they come up. If someone just says I want to pay regular menu price, that’s fine too. We’re not forcing anybody to do anything.”

Although, like everywhere, there’s always going to be some haters! As the owner explains:

“There have been a few doubters and people that have gotten rather irritated. I had one gentleman tell me [on the Facebook page] he wishes he could let a fake God run his business and lay in bed every morning. I’m here at five every morning. I open the business and I’m working until close today. I don’t sit home and say, ├óΓé¼╦£God will do it.’ That’s not what this is about. It’s about applying my faith to every aspect of this business.”

Pretty amazing to have such faith in such an unusual idea, and for it to pay BIG dividends down the line! No matter what you believe, it’s still a cool experiment, and we wonder if other people will give it a shot!
Hopefully her faith will keep that increased income churning!
