'RHOA' Alum Apollo Nida Back In Jail On Parole Violation Just Days After Release From Prison

Real Housewives of Atlanta star Apollo Nida is back in jail — and this, just days after he was initially released from prison! So what went wrong so soon??
The 40-year-old was arrested this week by U.S. Marshals in Philadelphia, where he had initially been placed in a halfway home just days after originally being released from prison on parole.

According to media reports, the RHOA star was arrested by Marshals because “he broke a technical requirement pertaining to the rules of his release,” though it’s unclear what rule he actually broke. It’s a hell of a thing, because the reality TV mainstay had only just been released from prison after serving five years there on a bank fraud and identity theft case before being released on parole just days earlier.
While it’s unclear what parole rule he broke to land him back in jail, Nida likely was given — or waived — a hearing about the parole violation before being re-incarcerated. The broken “technical requirement” could be anything, too — a drug test, a discovered weapon, interacting with other convicted felons, etc., etc. It could be one of many things, but the specifics are less important than the fact that Nida’s freedom was cut short so quickly.
Now, because of his parole violation, the reality TV star will return to finish out his original sentence, forced to remain in prison until his original release date of October 15, 2019.
As we mentioned, this all stems from the 2014 bank fraud and identity theft case which put him in prison in the first place. At the time, the reality TV star’s lawyer indicated his client felt remorse and was sorry for his actions, in a statement released to the media:

“On behalf of my client Apollo, right now he feels remorse. He thought the judge was fair, and accepts his sentence, although he was hoping it would be less.”

Nida has been in prison before, too; he served time from 2004 to 2009 over auto title fraud.

He married now-former RHOA star Phaedra Parks upon his release in 2009, and the couple had two children — Ayden, 9, and Dylan, 5 — but they didn’t last in the marriage and ended up separating before he went back to prison on the bank fraud case in 2014.  Parks has not commented directly on Apollo’s release, nor his re-arrest and re-incarceration, though we’ll update you if that changes.
