Aww… this sucks! Well, for the hopeless romantic in us.
It might actually be the best thing for Richard Gere and Carey Lowell.
The two have been married for eleven years (and they were together for seven before that), but according to a super bumming report, they’ve decided to go down Divorce Boulevard.
Seeing as how they’ve been together so long, we can only imagine they tried everything before throwing in the towel. And it’s believed they haven’t been photographed together since January — very telling.
We hear the 64 year old Gere and his 52 year old wife apparently drifted apart thanks to their separate lifestyles. Richard, a practicing Buddhist, likes the quiet life. And Carey fancies socializing!
A source elaborates by saying:
├óΓé¼┼ôThey have a place in Bedford [NY], and he likes it because it├óΓé¼Γäós quiet and he likes the solitude. She likes being in North Haven in the limelight. They live next door to Jimmy Buffett and his family, and they├óΓé¼Γäóre good friends.”
Now, these two have a 13 year old son together. So we hope there’s no fighting over lil’ Homer in the divorce proceedings. Because that really ends up being the saddest part of these legal situations.
As for the money, Richard has somewhere around $45 million to his name. Together they have a 12,00sqft home — reportedly worth $65 million!!
So yeah, this could turn into a mess. But fingers crossed it won’t!
