Richard Simmons Settles With 'National Enquirer' In Transgender Defamation Lawsuit

A deal has been struck in the transgender defamation lawsuit between Richard Simmons and the National Enquirer.
To refresh your memory, Simmons brought defamation charges against the Enquirer, owned by American Media, last year after they published a story that the fitness icon was undergoing sexual reassignment.

After a judge sided with the media company saying that being misidentified as transgender does not expose someone to”hatred, contempt or ridicule,” Richard filed an appeal which has since been dropped.
The terms of his agreement are confidential, so it’s unclear if he’s still on the hook for American Media’s legal fees or if they agreed to something more equitable just to make it go away.
We also don’t know the status of his lawsuit against the private investigator who allegedly planted tracking devices on him.
Drama, drama!!
