We’re not surprised in the least! In the end it’s always going to come down to ratings, ratings, ratings!
Although Ricky Gervais caused a bit of controversy this year during his hosting gig Golden Globes and many have speculated that he would not be invited back for a third time, the comedian has revealed that in fact, just the opposite has happened – because his antics brought in some big-time viewership!
He explains:
“The ratings went up again, and the organizers asked me to consider a third year. [But] I don├óΓé¼Γäót think I should. I don├óΓé¼Γäót know what I could do better. I certainly couldn├óΓé¼Γäót get more press for them, that├óΓé¼Γäós for sure. You know me. Two seasons is enough. The response was staggering. It was discussed on every news channel and chat show for weeks. The weird thing is, the question is always, ‘Did Ricky go too far?’ And the answer is always, ‘No.’ I have yet to find anyone who was actually offended by it.”
Exactly!
His sense of humor may not be for everyone, but it’s not as though he pulled a fast one on producers!
Everyone involved should have been well-aware of what they were getting themselves into when he signed on for the job!
But we definitely agree with him! Two times is enough – get some fresh blood up there on stage!
