Ricky Gervais is always more than willing to throw in his two cents.
Especially if the topic of discussion is related to animals, the environment or some combo of the two.
We previously mentioned that Western Australia had begun a government-sponsored, controversial shark culling program.
He tweeted:
I love everything about Australia. The people, the attitude & especially the wildlife. Please protect your sharks. They were there first 🙂

That’s totally true! Sharks have been around for millions of years!
The whole point of the cull is that sharks are killing people off of Western Australia’s coast and the government is trying to stop that.
But killing to stop killing? Ricky continued his criticism:
You can kill any shark that gets out of the sea and starts killing us in our natural habitat of streets and pubs and internet cafes. Deal?

Ha! We love how hilarious he is because not only does he put a message out there that others would want to share, he also raises seriously valid points!
Using his humor to spread the good word!
Way to go, Ricky!
