Rihanna has announced the first annual Diamond Ball set to take place on December 11 in Beverly Hills and to benefit the Clara Lionel Foundation.
RiRi founded the charity in 2012 in honor of her late grandparents, Clara and Lionel Braithwaite, making it her goal to raise funds for health, education, arts and culture globally.
Additionally, the charity supports cancer treatment and research in Barbados, which continues the efforts begun by Rihanna in 2012 when she made a large donation to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown.
The money raised from the Diamond Ball will benefit the Clara Braithwaite Center for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine by purchasing new equipment, among other enhancements.
Rihanna said:
“One of the greatest benefits of my job was being able to start the Clara Lionel Foundation in honor of my grandparents. There is truly nothing I’m more proud of and we’ve just gotten started. I’m excited to continue my work and thrilled to be able to host the Diamond Ball ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ a night that promises to be elegant and inspirational.”
The ball will feature a special performance by RiRi and attendance by a variety of A-listers, though we don’t know exactly who yet.

Not only is this a great cause to support, but we’ll also get rewarded by incredible performances and fashion — of course Rihanna will wear something AH-Mazing to the event!
