is a candid queen!
For the June issue of Vogue, the Needed Me songstress opens up about a variety of topics including turning 30, having “fat days,” her current relationship, and yes, even that time Drake publicly confessed his love for her at the MTV VMAs.
A fan of late nights and running a mile a minute, we’re happy to report that RiRi has come to a point where she has a healthy work-life balance — which is partly due to her romance with Saudi businessman Hassan Jameel, who might just be the one!

The Barbados native explains:

“I used to feel guilty about taking personal time, but I also think I never met someone who was worth it before.”

She goes on to say turning 30 has put a lot of things into perspective for her:

“Even mentally, just to be away from my phone, to be in the moment, that has been key for my growth. Now, when I come to work, I’m all in. Because before you know it, the years will go by. I’m glad I’m taking the time. I’m happy.”

When discussing her new body-positive lingerie line, she says she wanted to make women feel their best with inclusive designs:

“You’ve just got to laugh at yourself, honestly. I mean, I know when I’m having a fat day and when I’ve lost weight. I accept all of the bodies. I’m not built like a Victoria’s Secret girl, and I still feel very beautiful and confident in my lingerie.”

Yas bb! Elsewhere in the interview, the topic of Drake revealing to the world that he loves Rihanna while presenting her with the prestigious Vanguard award came up. And while some may think his gesture was flattering, the singer was left feeling “uncomfortable.”
She explains:

“The VMAs is such a fan-focused awards show, so having that energy around me, and knowing the people who had received the award in the past, made it feel like a big deal. Waiting through that speech was probably the most uncomfortable part. I don’t like too many compliments; I don’t like to be put on blast.”

A humble queen. When asked about the current state of their friendship, her attitude shifted:

“We don’t have a friendship now, but we’re not enemies either. It is what it is.”

Womp. While they did seem like a perfect pair, we’re happy to see she’s in a healthy relationship now!
