When we were late to school, we just got detention! Rihanna had to pay five grand!
The singer visited Chicago’s Barrington High School on March 22nd, part of the grand prize in her Shine Bright Like A Diamond contest.
Unfortunately, she had a little traffic trouble and showed up over four hours late!
Apparently RiRi felt bad about the whole thing and promised to make it up to the students. And now she has! With money!
Gurl wrote a check to the school for $5,000! School spokesman Jeff Arnett said:
“We’re certainly gratified to receive a contribution from her. Even though this $5,000 gift has been long in coming, her management communicated with us immediately after the event and said she wanted to do something for the students.
It didn’t take any coaxing or pleading by the district. It was something they offered to do, and it took a while to work through the book keeping process.”
Hey, checks always take a long time! Someone get that gurl a debit card! LOLz!
But hey, better late than never, right?
