Philadelphia Eagles Fine Riley Cooper & Michael Vick Forgives Him

When we heard about Riley Cooper’s HORRIBLE racist incident, we knew it was only a matter of time before someone in football fined him.

And that someone was the Philadelphia Eagles.

The team’s owner Jeffrey Lurie released a statement saying:

“We are shocked and appalled by Riley Cooper’s words. This sort of behavior or attitude from anyone has no role in a civil society. He has accepted responsibility for his words and his actions. He has been fined for this incident.”

However, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said on Thursday that no further punishment would be involved. The league did make an initial statement though:

“The NFL stands for diversity and inclusion. Comments like this are wrong, offensive, and unacceptable.”

Agreed!!!

Cooper said he already apologized to his teammates, and quarterback Michael Vick is fine with the situation. He tweeted:

At least Vick isn’t just preaching second chances, but practicing them too.

His brother Marcus Vick didn’t feel the same way though, and reportedly tweeted out a $1,000 bounty out for Cooper on the field, which he later deleted.

Eagles teammate Jason Avant had a supportive reaction, saying:

“A lot of guys forgave him right away. And there’s going to be guys where it takes a couple days, or a week or a month. I will say, when I’m around every day, he’s not that way. …I still sat next to him today to let him know I’m there for him.”

In an interview, Cooper reiterated that he’s disgusted, he wasn’t brought up that way and his parents are also disgusted with him.

The reaction to this entire incident has spanned many emotions, which are understandably valid.

So, we’re wondering
