The tough times are also affecting professional sports!
Arena football is canceling its upcoming 2009 season to take a step back and develop a new business model.
But, the League insists it is not shutting down forever.
The news comes on the heels of the departure of several teams from important cities or owned by important people, including teams in Dallas, Philadelphia, Colorado, Georgia, Chicago and Cleveland. A source says that “we couldn’t be taken seriously if we lost too many teams, especially in big markets” causing the league to “shut down and reorganize.”
The AFL expected to resume play in 2010 as a much stronger sport.
Arena football was founded 1987.
They better get their shiz together or there are going to be some very disappointed fans!
