Legendary newsman and creator of 60 Minutes, Don Hewitt passed away on Wednesday.
The 86-year-old Hewitt was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer after his doctor found a small, contained tumor earlier this year.
So sad.
During Hewitt’s impressive 50-year career, the newsman picked up 73 Emmys, 13 DuPont/Columbia University Awards and 9 Peabody Awards while working as the executive producer for 60 Minutes.
Don is survived by his wife, Marilyn Berger and four children.
Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.
