LO: CI Final Season RIP

Bummer!

It looks like the 10th season of Law and Order: Criminal Intent is indeed the final season for the show. This is a downer for a lot of people, as the show still managed strong ratings until the end.

Here’s why they wanted to give the audience a true series ending season, and why the show didn’t make sense to keep going:

├óΓé¼┬¥At the time that Season 10 was greenlit … We had a conversation internally, and [NBC Universal chair] Bonnie [Hammer] was phenomenally supportive of [the idea that] you├óΓé¼Γäóve got to honor your contract with the audience. We as a cable network don├óΓé¼Γäót want to pull the plug and leave people being upset ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ ├óΓé¼╦£Wait, what happened to my show?├óΓé¼Γäó ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ so we very carefully and wonderfully staged a final season.├óΓé¼┬¥

As for why these ratings were not enough, the answer was simply that the ratings for “CI” did not necessarily average out the expensive cost to keep this show afloat. As the part of such a prestigious franchise, “Criminal Intent” cost a great deal more to produce than many of the other series that run regularly on the network.

Unfortunately, that makes a lot of sense to end it because it cost more to make than the ratings were allowing, and it IS great for them to keep the audience in mind while ending the series!

It’s much more pleasing to have an official end than to just realize one day that a show you loved has disappeared without any kind of finale!

How do U feel about all this??
