Yves Rocher, the founder of the iconic namesake beauty brand, died Saturday at the age of 79.
The Frenchman founded the company back in 1959 and grew it into a 2 billion euro company over the years, with storefronts in over 80 countries.
In addition to running his beauty company, Rocher was also the mayor of Gacilly in Brittany, his hometown. French President Nicolas Sarkozy said on Saturday:
“The head of the state insists on paying homage to the civic commitment of this man, passionate about politics, having held many mandates in Brittany, the place he loved so much and where he developed part of the activities of his company.”
Sounds like he lead a colorful life and will be missed.
Sad.
