River Otter Triplets A Sight For Sore Eyes In Brooklyn!

Mama Dixie and daddy Oogie sure are proud!
Brooklyn’s Prospect Park Zoo welcomed not one, not two, but THREE river otters in the family, the first otter birth in a NYC zoo since 1956.
North American river otters are found through river and coast areas in the U.S. and Canada but the 1900s were not kind to the otter.
Pollutions, fur trading, and habitat destruction dwindled their numbers in the early 20th century but conservation groups are beginning to restore populations.
Congrats again to the Brooklyn otter family quintet!
