Now that The Avengers has already surpassed the coveted $1 Billion box-office sales mark, Robert Downey Jr.’s ultimate paycheck from the film could reach $50 million!
And yet every other star – even big names Samuel L. Jackson & Scarlett Johansson – will only make about $2 – $6 million!
Mere pennies.
So why the mega $$$ for Tony Stark??
Apparently, after Iron Man’s surprise success back in 2008, Rob and his agent/lawyer team assembled and twerked his contract with Marvel so that Robert would have a stake in the earnings of any future film in which he portrays Tony Stark.
His cut is rumored to be in the 5-7% range. And with MORE Iron Man/Avengers flicks heading into production, well… let’s just say he can Scrooge McDuck the HELL out of that shi*!
Savvy negotians, Robert! Way to ensure your eternal wealth… maybe you can build yourself a REAL Iron Man costume with all the mulah!
