Robert Downey Jr. Tells Hollywood To Forgive Mel Gibson!

Well, we can certainly understand why he would feel this way, but we can’t say we agree!
Robert Downey Jr. has long attributed Mel Gibson to helping him get his career back on track by casting him in Air America in 1990 despite his troubles with addiction back then, and during the now sober actor’s acceptance of the American Cinematheque tribute last night at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, he implored audience members to forgive the Anti-Semite!
He says:

“Unless you are without sin├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥and if you are, you are in the wrong fucking industry├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥you should forgive him and let him work again.”

Of course, nobody is perfect, and while we agree with that sentiment, there’s a big difference between being down and out because you’re struggling with the disease of addiction and repeatedly expressing hatred and rage toward a group of people for their religious beliefs!
That being said, we do commend Downey for not forgetting the help that Gibson gave him when he needed it, and still being a loyal friend!
But you still may be standing alone with your opinions, boy!
