Robin Roberts has finally set an official date for her departure from Good Morning America.
She begins her medical leave this Friday so she can have a bone-marrow transplant.
The transplant is for her myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), a disease that attacks her blood and bone marrow.
Luckily, her sister is a perfect match.
Robin said:
“[She] is a perfect match and she’s been spending a lot of time with me. She’s been taking shots to help her prepare.”
The surgery is scheduled for Tuesday and after a few weeks of recovery, she DEF plans on going back to GMA.
She said:
“I know I’m going to have a job when I come back.”
We’re sure you will!
We know the whole nation will be glad to see you again, but for now, we just wish you a successful procedure and a full recovery!
