We thought Robin Thicke‘s divorce drama with Paula Patton was finally behind us.
But on Thursday, TMZ revealed the former flames are in a contentious custody battle over their son, Julian. In the initial divorce filing, the singer and his ex had agreed upon joint custody of the six-year-old.

However, the actress has been keeping the 39-year-old from their son after an alleged incident of physical abuse.
Sources tell the tabloid that, earlier this month, the child told officials at his school that his famous father had spanked him multiple times.
After hearing Julian’s story, school staffers reported the case to the Los Angeles County Department Of Children and Family Services, and Paula filed an emergency order to limit Robin’s time with their boy.
The 41-year-old asked the judge to only allow the Blurred Lines performer to see their little one during monitored daytime visits.
She also recounted the story her son shared with her about the alleged abuse, just one day before he told the school.
In the papers, Paula said that Julian told her his poppa had spanked him “really hard.” She alleged that the youngster then tried to mimic the physical act by hitting his mother on the back.
The docs say the little guy had hit his momma so hard that she said “ow,” and he insisted Robin’s blow hurt even more than that.
Miz Patton also says that she confronted Robin about it, allegedly telling him:
“Julian is scared of you.”
However, the songsmith argued that any disciplinary spanking her performed was not abusive, saying:
“On a very rare occasion and only as a last resort, I will use light spanking, but it is consistent with the law — open hand on the butt. This is the type of discipline to which Paula and I agreed during our marriage.”
In fact, Robin even claimed that his ex is embellishing the story because she’s upset that she wasn’t allowed at Alan Thicke‘s funeral:
“Paula did not have a positive relationship with my father and often made negative comments to me about my father. As such, she was not welcome at his funeral.”
But sources say that, during a hearing on Thursday, the judge denied Paula’s request for Robin’s limited custody.
However, the DCFS investigation is still ongoing. So far, social workers have talked to Paula, and interviewed Julian twice. Insiders explain that Robin’s interview is being held this afternoon.
