Since yesterday, the world has been wondering how a man who brought smiles to so many could be in such serious personal pain.
But it seems like Robin Williams spread even more smiles than the public even knew about!
The 63-year-old actor was “a comedic Mother Theresa” according to one of the families he went to visit in the hospital. David Buist, who suffered from T-cell lymphoma, went to visit a Ronald McDonald House before he even knew that anything was wrong with him. That’s where he met Robin, who continued to call and check in on David after his diagnosis.
David’s uncle explained:
├óΓé¼┼ôWhen David was suffering at his worst, Robin would call him to perk him up. David treasured Robin’s calls and it helped to push him forward.├óΓé¼┬¥
The good news is that David is cancer-free and all grown up with a family, thanks in part to Robin’s words of encouragement.
And he wasn’t the only one!
Jessica Cole suffered from an incurable brain tumor, and her one wish from Make-A-Wish Foundation was to meet Williams because she LOVED Mrs. Doubtfire!
Unfortunately, Jessica fell ill and couldn’t make it, so Robin chartered his own private jet to take him to Greensboro, North Carolina to meet her. She died only two weeks after that. Her dad, Mark Cole remembered the day, saying:
├óΓé¼┼ôI couldn’t believe it. I felt very privileged that he came to spend the day with her like that. It was the most moving thing I’ve ever seen in my life.├óΓé¼┬¥
In the wake of his death, countless stories about Williams are surfacing, so these are just a few more that add to his legacy.
One thing is sure, Williams is already deeply missed.
