Inside Robin Williams' Struggle That Led To His Tragic Death

This is just such a sad day.
Robin Williams, who had allegedly been suffering from severe depression, has passed away from what is suspected to be a suicide due to asphyxiation.
Robin had previously checked into rehab earlier in July in order to focus on his sobriety.
However, Robin had made the trip to a substance rehab center earlier in 2006. Apparently, substance abuse had been a recurring issue in his life.
In addition, Robin had previously received a wake up call when it came to his substance abuse when his close friend John Belushi passed away:

“Was it a wake-up call? Oh yeah, on a huge level. The grand jury helped too.”

Meanwhile, rep discussed Robin’s struggle with depression in the statement on his tragic death:

“Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.”

Our hearts go out to his family and friends during this awful time.
