Rod R. Blagojevich, the former governor of Illinois, was sentenced on today to 14 years in federal prison for 18 felony corruption convictions. That includes the time he tried to sell/trade President Obama’s open Senate seat. The sentence wasn’t exactly what the prosecutors were hoping for, but at least he got time to begin with.
Before leaving for prison life, he released this statement:
├óΓé¼┼ôI have nobody to blame but myself for my stupidity and actions, words, things that I did, that I thought I could do.”
He said! It’s on the record! Mark it down people!
Well, he’s got a lot of time to think about that stupidity of his.
