There is nothing about this attack that wasn’t extremely horrifying — and even though Ronald Poppo seems to be in good spirits, we still can’t help but wish it had never happened to him in the first place!
If you recall, Miami was struck with a shocking display of violence last year that started a nation-wide scare when it came to a drug people were using called “bath salts.” That attack resulted in Ronald losing his nose, his eyes, and 80% of his face — because the attacker on the drug was EATING HIM ALIVE. The one thing the attacker couldn’t get? His spirit!
Here (below), he is seen celebrating his recent 66th birthday and smiling in hospital with staff!
He has put on 50lbs and even recorded a short video clip, giving thanks to supporters who have helped keep his spirits up throughout all the madness that happened to him. He has even learned to play the guitar — and continues to work with an occupational therapist, who taught him how to dress himself, feed himself, shower and shave!
That’s an INCREDIBLE recovery if you ask us!
