The royal baby is nearly here — so much so that Prince Harry has had to scramble last minute and cancel part of a planned trip to the Netherlands next week because of the child’s apparently imminent arrival!
Such is the report out of London today, where the Duke of Sussex has reportedly called off the first day of his trip due to “logistical planning” reasons, right as Meghan Markle may be just DAYS away from giving birth!

Palace sources are insisting to anyone who will listen that the cancellation of the trip’s first day is NOT related to the approaching birth, but nobody’s really buying that, especially considering the timing of the whole thing, and the fact that Meghan is due pretty much literally any second.
In fact, just the other day, we reported that Harry ditching his Netherlands trip was a real possibility depending on when Meghan went into labor, and it seems now that he’s (rightly) prioritizing his pregnant wife over a state trip that can be done at another time.

Nevertheless, the royal family is still playing coy with Harry’s travel plans, as a spokesman for the Duke himself released the following statement to British media outlets about the itinerary changes (below):
“Due to the logistical planning for the traveling press to cover visits and engagements by The Royal Family, we have taken the decision to postpone The Duke of Sussex’s scheduled visit to Amsterdam on Wednesday 8th May 2019. The Duke is currently scheduled to travel to The Hague on Thursday 9th May for the launch of the Invictus Games The Hague 2020 as planned.”
So there you go… delayed by about a week. Not too big a deal, right?!
And yes, it is very rare for the royal family to cancel a pre-planned international engagement — especially choosing to pull the plug so close to the time of the event — but considering the circumstances here we’d hope it’s OK that Harry is opting to stay home for such an important even in his family’s lives!!!
