Rumer Willis‘ ex is clapping back at Demi Moore following her allegations against him!
As we previously reported, the 37-year-old actress is in a contentious custody battle over her 3-year-old daughter, Louetta, with her ex-boyfriend, Derek Richard Thomas. Rumer accused him of exhibiting a “persistent pattern” of “incessant domestic violence” and “insane emotional abuse,” usually in front of their young child or while trapped in the car with him. And Demi supported those allegations in a declaration to the court earlier this year.
The Substance star claimed back in January that “aggressive” Derek “appears to want to dictate and control Rumer’s environment” and has “absolutely no respect, care, concern, compassion or support toward anyone, especially Rumer and the baby,” citing him throwing a tantrum during the birth of Louetta. Additionally, Demi alleged that the dad previously refused to “let Rumer put clothes on Louetta when she was clearly cold and needing to be bundled and swaddled,” brought the baby home “filthy,” has given no “financial and physical support” to the pair, and more. Now Derek is firing back at Demi with shocking accusations of his own! In new legal documents obtained by TMZ on Wednesday, the musician insisted he’s never acted “aggressively or inappropriately” and believes Rumer “has launched a coordinated media attack across dozens of outlets” against him amid their custody battle. In fact, Derek even claimed The House Bunny star is the one in the wrong! He accused her of exploiting their daughter in sponsored content that has “adult sexual humor,” which he said he never consented to! Whoa! He didn’t seem to provide any examples in the court docs, though.
Derek went on to say he’s a present father and has FaceTimed Louette every day over the past year. He’s even allegedly made multiple attempts to see her in person, but Rumer allegedly put a stop to the visits with her ever-changing “conditions.” In addition, he claimed the Dancing with the Stars alum moved their toddler to Idaho by telling him it was temporary to escape the toxic air quality after the Los Angeles Wildfires in January 2025, but then tried to make the move permanent.
Ultimately, Derek swore all of the allegations from Rumer and Demi are bogus — including that he’s on drugs and doesn’t financially support Louetta. He told the court he’d gladly pay child support to his ex from his $2,350 average monthly income. The Soil Maker inventor also asked the court to adopt a proposed interim parenting plan to determine visitation on specific dates, holidays, and overnights, as well as additional protocols and communication rules “that will stabilize what has been an otherwise chaotic and unreasonable situation for Louetta.”
