Russell Brand Is Joining The Late Night Game...On FX!

Looks like we’ll have a new reason to watch FX after American Horror Story is done for the season…
FX has JUST closed a deal with Russell Brand for “six half-hour installments of an unscripted late night series,” which is currently untitled and scheduled to debut in Spring 2012.
According to the press release, the show will feature the following:

“…Brand├óΓé¼Γäós unvarnished, unfiltered take on current events, politics and pop culture. The six installments will be shot in front of a live audience and the format will draw heavily on interaction with that audience.”

Here’s what FX’s Executive Vice President of Original Programming Nick Grad had to say about it:

“We├óΓé¼Γäóre very excited to add Russell Brand├óΓé¼Γäós bracingly funny, original, and honest voice to the FX comedy line-up. We look forward to supporting Russell and his partner Troy Miller├óΓé¼Γäós ambition to strip down the hosted comedy format to its most fundamental elements and to create something daring and unfiltered for the FX audience.”

And here’s what Russell himself had to say about it:

“I am so excited I├óΓé¼Γäóm on the point of climax, in fact I will put the ‘O’ into FX, which spells FOX, which is actually the channel├óΓé¼Γäós real name. That├óΓé¼Γäós the only thing that worries me about all this to be honest. At least I├óΓé¼Γäóll be able to have a Christmas drink with Bill O├óΓé¼ΓäóReilly.”

LOLz! Congratulations, Russell! We have no doubt that this will be absolutely HIGHlarious!!!!
What do U think? Will U tune in for Russell Brand’s new FX late night series this spring???
