It's Official: Russell Crowe Is Set To Sail In Darren Aronofsky's Noah

The Master And The Commander is back to set sail across the seven seas entire planet after God unleashes the world’s biggest thunder storm in Darren Aronofsky‘s Noah.
Russell Crowe has officially been announced to play the titular character and the Black Swan director couldn’t be more excited. Aronofsky released a statement saying:

“I├óΓé¼Γäód like to thank Paramount and Regency for backing my team’s work to breathe new life into the biblical epic. I rejoice that Russell Crowe will be by my side on this adventure. It’s his immense talent that helps me to sleep at night. I look forward to being wowed by him every day.”

We heard this might be happening a month ago after Christian Bale dropped out of the role, but we’re excited to hear that one of our favorite biblical stories will definitely be getting the big screen treatment.
Production is scheduled to begin this July and will float into theaters on March 28, 2014. We hope Russell doesn’t have any animal allergies!
