Ryan Dorsey has broken his silence.
On Tuesday, the 34-year-old took to Twitter to address wife Naya Rivera‘s recent domestic battery arrest. In case you missed it, on Saturday, the Glee alum was booked by the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department after she allegedly assaulted Dorsey during an argument about their son, Josey.

While Ryan was the one who dialed 911 on his love, it seems as though the couple are trying to resolve this issue privately. The West Virginia native explained:
“This is a difficult time for everyone in the family especially for Naya and I. This isn’t some reality show, this is our life, and I ask that everyone especially ├óΓé¼╦£the media’ please respect our privacy and treat us/this situation how you would want a loved one to be treated. Perhaps with kindness, respect, without judgement, and as negative a situation like this is, with positivity and love. Thanks.”

Huh. To make matters worse, those close to the couple are genuinely concerned about Rivera’s well being. One source confirmed to E! News:
“Naya’s friends and family are very concerned for her well-being.”
Per Ryan’s 911 call, Naya was drunk and “out of control” just before her arrest. Sadly, this isn’t the first time Naya’s gotten physical with her spouse, as the insider alleged:
“This is not the first time that their relationship has been violent, and the fact that she hit her husband and lashed out like that, is very scary to everyone around her.”
How awful. Regardless, it appears that Ryan’s family is standing by Naya during this time. After being arraigned and released on a $1,000 bond, Dorsey’s father picked her up. The confidant explained:
“Ryan’s family has been trying to console both of them but are very disappointed.”
As for Naya’s loved ones, they’re hoping the Sorry Not Sorry author will seek mental health treatment amid this controversy. The source added:
“Many people close to Naya are urging her to seek immediate help for the sake of her son and herself.”
Not to mention, since the on-again/off-again couple “have had a toxic relationship for a while now,” the twosome may seriously reconsider splitting for good. At the end of the day, “everyone wants what is best for Josey.”
Intense stuff. Hopefully, Ryan and Naya are ACTUALLY doing what’s best for their son…
