There’s more for Ryan Lochte to say about his Rio Olympics scandal.
In a new interview with ESPN the Magazine published on Tuesday, the controversial swimmer revealed having suicidal thoughts amid the backlash last summer.
As you probably remember, the 32-year-old filed a police report stating that he and some teammates were robbed at gunpoint. Well, it turned out the group of Olympians actually vandalized a gas station and lied about it.
Ryan was suspended from competitive swimming for 10 months.

Recounting the controversy, he shared:
“After Rio, I was probably the most hated person in the world. There were a couple of points where I was crying, thinking, ├óΓé¼╦£If I go to bed and never wake up, fine.'”
To make it entirely clear he was suicidal, the pro athlete added:
“I was about to hang up my entire life.”
Wow.
Ryan confessed he is now in a better place as he’s training for the Tokyo Olympics AND his baby with fianc├â┬⌐e Kayla Rae Reid due this month:
“Now I’ve found a new purpose with my son. This fire has been ignited, and it’s bigger than ever, and I’m just so excited because I know what’s going to happen in Tokyo. Everyone is going to have to watch out!”
We’re wishing Lochte and his growing family all the best.
